Not a single tree stands to grow in exactly the same way as the trees next to it. We can learn a lot from trees.
“The Raven Queen had grown accustomed to her unkindness.”
A flock of ravens is generally referred to as an ‘unkindness’.
I think the term stems from their association with death, witches and the like.
Ravens (and witches, for that matter) have never been anything but cordial during the interactions I’ve had with them, so I don’t see why we treat them with such disdain.
Anyway, this is a Shorts post for ravens, witches, deities of death and D&D lovers alike. You do you, boo 🖤
A friend of mine loaned me a book called The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories recently and I absolutely adored it! It reminded me a little of the Shorts I post right here on this blog each week. Anywho, upon reading more about it and how it was written, I stumbled across an online community for creatives called HITRECORD. I’m probably late to the party as HITRECORD has been around for quite a few years now, but I figured I’d send the word out to others who missed the initial HITRECORD hype. If you’re a creative of any and all backgrounds/specialties and you’re interested in learning about this awesome collaborative initiative, read on…Continue reading “HITRECORD: A Collaborative Resource For Creatives”

Ad and I visited this cafe a little while ago now when it first opened up. We’d seen it under construction. We’d felt the anticipation of a new weekend breakfast spot every time we walked past. We couldn’t not eat there when it opened its doors. Here’s what we thought of this sweet little cafe in the heart of Sutherland…Continue reading “Greenhouse On Flora Cafe Sutherland”
An empath in a fictional setting is defined as a person with the paranormal ability to perceive the mental or emotional state of another individual. In the real world, being an empath isn’t so much paranormal as it is rare, mystifying and even perplexing to some. There’s nothing paranormal to fear about it, it’s more of a 6th sense (but with little to no involvement from Bruce Willis)…Continue reading “Understanding Empaths: A Catch 22”
Yeah, so these posts are why most people come here. For some reason people enjoy basking in the second-hand awkwardness that my day to day life seems to revolve around. I mean, I kind of enjoy it too because I’ve now accepted the fact that this is my life and I can have a bit of a laugh at how skittish I feel around literally everyone around me. This encounter took place at a recent live gig in Sydney’s Factory Theatre. The band: Holy Holy. They’re tops, by the way, if you’ve not yet heard of them. Anyway, here’s the story…Continue reading “Just Another Awkward Encounter (And A Slight Brush With Fame)”
Hello, hello! Today I’m sharing a super simple Jester Lavorre cosplay tutorial based on the recent costume I put together for the Sydney Oz Comic-Con Pop-Up 2021. This Critical Role (from the mind of Laura Bailey) inspired character cosplay was a lot of fun to make and could honestly be done pretty easily by cosplayers of all skill levels. I’m a beginner myself, so it goes to show that you can make amazing stuff if you use a little imagination and a little help from friends. Enjoy…Continue reading “Jester Lavorre Cosplay Tutorial”
A wonderful friend of mine, Mitchell, messaged me last week and asked if I wanted to see Frozen The Musical with him the next day because his niece decided she didn’t want to go. My immediate reaction was obviously, “Is this a prank? This is a prank right?”. Sure enough, a prank it was not. So, we met at the Capitol Theatre the next day, masks in hand (then on face) and we sat through the entire glorious production of Frozen The Musical. Here’s our take away from the experience…Continue reading “All The Best Things About Frozen The Musical”

Recently, I’ve been lucky enough partner with the amazing team at Good Games Miranda to bring you all a few board game reviews. This time around they bestowed upon me 7 Wonders the board game. The minimum number of players is three and as much as we’d love to get our cats, Aang and Korra involved in the gameplay, they just don’t have the thumbs to hold up a hand of cards. So, we turned to Adam’s family and boy, did we have some fun! 10% DISCOUNT CODE INCLUDED…Continue reading “7 Wonders The Game”
